Rondo & Variations

2025 · Brussels City Ballet

Music · Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Rondo & Variations was created as an invitation to reflect on classicism and what it means to be classical today. Mozart’s delicate balance of fragility and boldness, lightness and melancholy, and its joyful ability to constantly surprise the listener became a starting point for the work.

Rather than pursuing technical perfection, the choreography explores balance, clarity and ease — treating classical form not as something fixed, but as something that can be questioned, transformed and made alive through contemporary movement.

The work moves between the discipline of classical tradition and the freedom of individual expression.
